The UK is set to progress with utilizing the entire amount of seized Russia's holdings to bolster Ukraine's war effort, Leader Sir Keir Starmer has announced.

In a shared declaration, the leaders of the Britain, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany stated that this joint measure would heighten pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin and persuade the Russian Federation to participate in talks.

They further noted that the move would be carried out in tight collaboration with the United States.

UK penalties have immobilized over £25bn of Russian funds since Russia launched its widespread offensive against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. But, previously, funds allocated to Ukraine using Russian funds had solely been sourced from earnings and returns accrued on them.

Sir Keir told President Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, France, and Germany were united in their aim to advance efforts toward employing the full value of the immobilized Moscow's national funds to conclude the conflict.

He added that more restrictions soon would increase the strain on Russia.

This declaration comes after European Union officials gathered in the Danish capital last week to debate utilizing frozen Russian holdings for a 140-billion-euro credit to the Ukrainian nation.

Recently, President Donald Trump called on international partners to take or employ seized Russian assets, according to news outlets.

The worth of immobilized Russia's holdings in the EU is estimated to be approximately €211bn.

President Zelensky urges Britain's Sir Keir Starmer to take part in the PURL program

The Russian government carried out extensive bombardments throughout the Ukrainian territory on that day, resulting in blackouts in large parts of Kyiv, the city, and several other zones.

Two people were killed and a minimum of 20 people were injured in the strike, the Ukrainian government reported.

In a update on X following the strike, Zelensky commented that the premeditated assault focused on non-military and power facilities.

"What's needed is not just talk but concrete steps - from the America, EU, and the G7 - in providing anti-aircraft weapons and applying restrictions," he stated.

"Each restrictive measure weakens Moscow's military apparatus," Zelensky declared, in a different message.

Also on Friday, Zelensky stated to media outlets he would encourage Sir Keir to join the PURL scheme, under which alliance members buy arms from the United States to donate to the Ukrainian forces.

While commending the United Kingdom's firm backing for Kyiv, he noted it should demonstrate clearly that it would take part in the initiative, as well as enforce further sanctions on Moscow.
